The Yellowedge Grouper is a solitary predator found in rocky and sandy-mud habitats. It feeds mainly on crabs and various fish species. This grouper can grow over a meter long and is prized by anglers for sport fishing.

Where they live

Found in the western Atlantic including the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, this grouper inhabits rocky bottoms and sandy mud areas from about 90 to 360 meters deep.
