The Wreckfish is a large, solitary predator known for inhabiting deep caves and shipwrecks in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. It has a robust, fusiform body and is prized as a game fish. Juveniles stay near floating debris while adults dwell mostly on the continental shelf and slope.
Where they live
Found in saltwater regions of the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea, typically around depths of 40 to 600 meters near continental shelf and slope areas, especially around caves and wrecks.
