The tripletail is a unique offshore fish known for often floating on its side near the water surface, especially around floating objects. Juveniles resemble leaves, aiding camouflage. It is a predator feeding mainly on small fish and benthic crustaceans.
Where they live
Found in brackish and saltwater of the Atlantic and Mediterranean, tripletail inhabit shallow to moderately deep waters up to 70 meters, often near floating debris or reefs.
