The Thresher shark is known for its extremely long tail, which it uses to stun prey. This powerful predator inhabits the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It is a prized game fish due to its size and fighting ability.

Where they live

Lives mainly on continental shelves and slopes in marine and transitional waters of the Atlantic and Mediterranean. Found from surface waters down to 650 meters deep.
