The Spicule anchovy is a small, elongated fish known for inhabiting both fresh and saltwater environments. It preys on fish and shrimp and is commonly found near river mouths and in brackish water areas. It is not considered a game fish but plays an important role in the aquatic food chain.

Where they live

Found in shallow waters up to 55 meters deep, often near river mouths and brackish water in North and South America, including the Orinoco delta and Panama. It thrives in freshwater, brackish, and saltwater habitats across Atlantic, Pacific, and Caribbean regions.
