The Spangled emperor is a popular game fish known for its strong fight and beautiful coloration. Juveniles form large schools in shallow, sheltered areas, while adults tend to occur alone or in small schools in deeper waters. It is a predator that feeds on a variety of crustaceans, mollusks, and small fish.
Where they live
Found in brackish and saltwater environments across Asia and the Indian, Atlantic, and Pacific Oceans. Juveniles inhabit shallow seagrass and mangrove areas, moving to deeper waters from 10 to 75 meters as adults.
