The snubnose pompano is a popular gamefish known for its schooling behavior near reefs and estuaries. Juveniles prefer shallow bays, while adults move to clearer, seaward reef areas. It has a short, deep body and feeds mainly on hard-shelled invertebrates.

Where they live

Found in brackish and saltwater regions of the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Juveniles inhabit sandy or muddy bays near river mouths; adults form schools around coral and rocky reefs in depths from 1 to 7 meters.
