How to catch Snoek

The snoek is a large, elongated predatory fish known for its schooling behavior and complex migratory patterns. It inhabits surface waters of continental shelves and sheltered bays, thriving in cooler temperatures between 13°C and 18°C. Juveniles are commonly found in estuaries, while adults can reach impressive sizes and provide a challenging game fishing experience.
Where they live
Found in brackish and saltwater across the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Prefers surface waters over continental shelves and sheltered bays from shallow to depths around 550 meters, especially in cooler waters (13–18°C). Juveniles favor southern bays and estuaries in Australia and New Zealand.
