The slender tuna is a medium-sized game fish known for its streamlined body and strong swimming ability. Juveniles prefer warmer waters and move to cooler regions as they grow. It is prized by anglers for sport fishing in saltwater environments.
Where they live
Found in saltwater across Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans mainly between 20° and 35°S latitudes. Juveniles inhabit surface waters with temperatures from 19 to 24°C, moving to cooler, higher latitudes as adults. Typically found at depths from surface to 20 meters.
