The Shortnose spurdog is a small shark with a blunt snout and spiny fins. It inhabits continental shelves and slopes in many oceans worldwide. This predatory fish feeds on a variety of smaller marine animals.

Found worldwide on continental shelves and slopes at depths from 30 to 750 meters in saltwater regions including the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian Ocean, and Mediterranean Sea.
