The sawback angelshark is a bottom-dwelling shark known for its flattened body and camouflage. It inhabits sandy or muddy sea floors, where it ambushes prey. This species grows up to nearly 2 meters long and can weigh around 40 kilograms.

Found in the Atlantic and Mediterranean, dwelling on sandy or muddy bottoms from shallow coastal waters down to 500 meters deep.
