Parore, also known as luderick or black bream, is a schooling fish found in estuaries and coastal waters. They are daytime foragers that graze mainly on algae and aquatic plants. Moderately sedentary, they move between seagrass beds and mangrove-lined creeks, especially before spawning.
Where they live
Found in shallow coastal waters and estuaries across the Pacific and Indian Oceans, parore inhabit algal beds and mangrove-lined creeks up to 20 meters deep.
