The Pacific viperfish is a deep-sea predator known for its elongated body and sharp teeth. It inhabits a wide depth range in the Pacific Ocean and uses bioluminescent photophores to lure prey. This species feeds primarily on small invertebrates and fish in deep waters.

Lives in the Pacific Ocean along the North American coast, ranging from depths of 25 to 4390 meters. Prefers deep ocean waters, often near the ocean floor.
