The ocean whitefish is a solitary saltwater species known for its elongated body and ability to dig into the substrate to find food. It can reach up to about one meter in length and is a valued game fish. This bottom-dweller inhabits a variety of seabed types, including rocky, sandy, and muddy areas.
Where they live
Found in the Pacific waters of North America, the ocean whitefish lives at depths between 10 and 90 meters, favoring rocky, sandy, and mud bottoms.
