The ocean sunfish, also known as mola, is a massive, deep-bodied fish that inhabits deep ocean slopes. It is often shy but can become accustomed to divers in certain areas. Despite its size, it primarily feeds on small marine organisms and algae.
Where they live
Found on slopes adjacent to deep waters in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. Usually inhabits depths from 30 to over 1500 meters, moving inshore for shelter and cleaning.
