The noble lampfish is a small, elongated deep-sea fish known for its bioluminescent organs. It resides primarily in midwater ocean depths and is a selective plankton feeder. This species is not targeted by anglers.

Where they live

Found in oceanic waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans between 100 and 1000 meters depth. It migrates vertically, dwelling deeper during the day and rising at night especially between 300-500 meters.
