The Nassau grouper is a robust saltwater fish known for its fusiform shape and striking camouflage that helps it ambush prey. Where they live
Found from the shoreline down to 90 meters deep, often near caves and shallow coral reefs in the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, and western Atlantic waters. Juveniles prefer seagrass beds rich in crustaceans.
