The midnight parrotfish is a striking herbivorous fish known for its role in reef ecosystems. It grazes on algae growing on rocks and dead coral alongside surgeonfishes. This species can be found from shallow coastal reefs to deeper seaward reefs in the Caribbean.

Where they live

Found in saltwater environments across the Atlantic and Caribbean, the midnight parrotfish inhabits rocky coastal and seaward reefs from 5 to 75 meters deep.
