The Mediterranean moray is a large eel-like fish known for its nocturnal and territorial behavior. It lurks in holes and crevices among rocks and corals, hunting actively at night. This moray preys on fish, crabs, and squid, using its snake-like body to navigate tight spaces.
Where they live
Found in saltwater habitats across the Mediterranean and parts of the Atlantic, it typically resides from shallow waters down to depths around 800 meters. It favors rocky reefs and coral areas where it can hide in crevices.
