Lutjanus argentimaculatus

The mangrove red snapper is a versatile predator found in various water types from freshwater streams to deep offshore reefs. Juveniles prefer sheltered mangrove and estuary habitats while adults form groups around coral reefs. They can grow large, reaching up to 1.5 meters in length.
Where they live
Found in freshwater, brackish, and saltwater habitats across Asia, Oceania, and parts of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Juveniles inhabit mangrove estuaries and tidal creeks, adults frequent coral reefs and deep offshore areas up to 120 meters deep.
