The Japanese amberjack is a popular game fish known for its strong shoaling behavior and fast swimming. It is often called Buri or Yellowtail and is prized for both sport and cuisine. Juveniles are found among floating seaweeds and adults feed mainly on plankton and smaller fishes.
Where they live
Found in saltwater Pacific regions down to 100 meters depth. Juveniles stay near floating seaweed while adults swim in shoals.
