The honeycomb grouper is a small, common predator found in shallow reefs and lagoons. Juveniles hide among staghorn corals while adults feed more on fish. It's a prized game fish with a robust fusiform body shape.
Where they live
Inhabits shallow lagoons and protected seaward reefs up to 50 meters deep, often near seagrass and coral thickets in tropical Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans.
