The Hawaiian ladyfish is an elongated, fast-swimming predator found in shallow coastal waters. It inhabits a variety of habitats from mangroves and tidal streams to sandy shorelines, feeding day and night. Often found alone or in small groups, it is prized by anglers for sport.
Where they live
Found in shallow waters up to 30 meters deep around shorelines with sandy or silty bottoms, including mangroves, swamps, tidal streams, and marshes in Pacific and Indian Ocean regions.
