The Grey tilefish is a robust saltwater species found in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. It inhabits deep waters over mud and rubble bottoms, where it hunts benthic invertebrates and fish. This species can grow up to 90 cm in length and is valued as a game fish.

Where they live

Lives on mud and rubble bottoms in depths from 30 to over 200 meters, mainly between 75 and 200 meters. Found in the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico regions around North America.
