Gon's cardinalfish is a small, short and deep-bodied species found primarily in coastal and mangrove areas. It inhabits a range of environments from shallow inshore waters to silty reefs and shipwrecks. This fish feeds selectively on plankton and typically grows to just over 12 cm in length.
Where they live
Occurs in shallow to moderately deep inshore saltwater, including mangroves, coastal zones, silty reefs, muddy substrates, and near shipwrecks in the Pacific and Indian Oceans.
