Brotula multibarbata

The goatsbeard brotula is a nocturnal predator with an elongated body, often found near reefs and crevices. It is secretive during the day, venturing out mostly at night to hunt small fish and crustaceans. This species inhabits a wide depth range from shallow reefs to upper continental slopes.
Where they live
Found in saltwater environments across the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Prefers reef-associated habitats at depths from 1 to 220 meters, including shallow lagoons and seaward reefs.
