The giant trevally is a powerful predatory fish found mainly in tropical and subtropical waters. It is known for its large size, aggressive behavior, and importance as a game fish. Adults usually live near seaward reefs while juveniles inhabit estuaries.
Where they live
Giant trevally inhabit inshore waters of continental shelves, preferring clear lagoons and seaward reefs, sometimes found in estuaries as juveniles. They occur in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, in brackish and saltwater environments.
