Garfish are slender, elongated predators found in brackish and saltwater environments. Known for their streamlined bodies and sharp beaks, they are popular among anglers as game fish. They hunt smaller aquatic creatures near the surface and in shallow waters.

Where they live

Garfish inhabit brackish and saltwater habitats including the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. They are commonly found at depths from 2 to 22 meters, often near coastal areas.
