The fimbriate moray is an eel-like species known for its dark spotted pattern. It inhabits coral reefs and protected inshore waters, often hiding among dead corals and in small caves. This nocturnal predator feeds on small fish and crustaceans.
Where they live
Found in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, the fimbriate moray lives in lagoons, reef flats, and seaward reefs up to 50 meters deep. It prefers protected, shallow inshore areas including harbors and coral rubble habitats.
