The Doublebar goatfish is a fusiform saltwater fish known for its distinctive double bars. It inhabits lagoon and seaward reefs, using its chin barbels to locate hidden prey. This species feeds on crustaceans by day and shifts to fishes and crab larvae at night.
Where they live
Found on lagoon and seaward reefs across the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, adults prefer rocky or coralline reefs with vertical relief, from shallow waters down to 80 meters.
