The Coney is a small grouper found in coral reefs throughout the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. It is a colorful, territorial fish that hides in caves and under ledges during the day. This species is a predator that feeds on small reef animals.
Where they live
Found on coral reefs in the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, and nearby Atlantic areas, usually in clear waters from shallow depths down to 150 meters. Often shelters in caves or ledges during daylight.
