The Channeled rockfish is a deepwater species known for living on soft bottoms at depths around 400 meters. It has a fusiform body and feeds by hunting macrofauna in the water column. Though not targeted as a game fish, it plays a role in deep-sea ecosystems.

Where they live

Inhabits soft bottom areas of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans at depths between 150 and 840 meters, favoring bottom temperatures from about 5.5 to 12.5°C.
