The Cape whitefish is a freshwater species found in larger tributaries and dams. It features an elongated body and is prized as a gamefish. It feeds on bottom-dwelling invertebrates and algae, breeding in gravelly flowing waters during summer.
Where they live
Inhabits deep, rocky pools of large rivers and dams in freshwater regions of Africa. Common in tributaries and mainstreams where gravelly and stony bottoms are present.
