The Cape elephantfish is a saltwater species known for its elongated body and distinctive appearance. It inhabits areas from shallow bays near shore down to the continental slope. This species is a predator that feeds on small fish, benthic invertebrates, and crustaceans.

Where they live

Occurs in saltwater regions around Africa, including the Atlantic and Indian Ocean. Found from shallow bays close to shore down to depths of around 374 meters.
