The bluespine unicornfish is a striking saltwater species known for its vibrant blue spines and unicorn-like horn. It forms small groups and is mainly active during the day. Juveniles prefer shallow bays, while adults frequent reefs with strong surge.
Where they live
Found in Pacific and Indian Ocean saltwaters, this fish inhabits channels, moats, lagoons, and seaward reefs down to 180 meters, often where there is strong water movement. Juveniles stay in shallow protected bays and harbors.
