The Blackspot threadfin is a marine fish known for its short and deep body shape. It inhabits muddy continental shelf bottoms, estuaries, sand or sand-mud flats, and coral reefs. This species is a protandrous hermaphrodite, changing sex as it matures.

Where they live

Found in brackish and saltwater across the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Inhabits depths of 16 to 73 meters over muddy or sandy bottoms, estuaries, and coral reefs.
