The Blackfin barracuda is a sleek predator recognized for its elongated body and large schooling behavior. It prefers reef environments with strong currents and can grow impressively large. Anglers often encounter it while trolling near reefs at dawn or dusk.
Where they live
Inhabits current-swept lagoon and seaward reefs across the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Forms large, semi-stationary schools during the day and disperses at night to hunt. Typically found from the surface down to 100 meters deep.
