The Birdbeak dogfish is a deepwater shark found near continental and insular shelves. It has an elongated body and preys on various pelagic fish and cephalopods. This species is not typically targeted for sport fishing due to its habitat and size.

Where they live

Inhabits outer continental and insular shelves and upper slopes at depths between 60 and 1490 meters in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Usually found near the bottom but sometimes swims higher in the water column.
