The Atlantic pomfret is a deep-bodied saltwater fish known for its short and deep shape. It inhabits Atlantic and Mediterranean waters and feeds by hunting smaller fish and marine creatures. It can grow up to 100 cm long and weigh as much as 6 kilograms.

Where they live

Found in saltwater from shallow to deep depths down to 1000 meters across the Atlantic and Mediterranean regions. Prefers open ocean habitats where it hunts for food.
